Our Story

It started in San Francisco Bay Area in the fall of 2017 when two friends while looking for some good quality black tea after coming out from a Farmer’s Market, couldn’t find something to their taste – the taste that they grew up with in India. Dipan and Das decided to start a business in bringing premium quality tea from India to the consumers in US at an affordable price range leveraging their experience and the network they have in that region.

Freshcarton specializes in working directly with the tea estates to control the mark-up on pricing and retain the "freshness" from multiple repackaging. They travel every year to taste and rank tea from numerous estates with distinguished independent tea tasters. Freshcarton blends different varieties to generate a perfectly harmonized taste, thus preserving the essence and flavor of Indian Tea in every cup.

Tracing the History of Green Tea in India

September 12, 2021koli majumdar

Green tea is manufactured from Camellia sinensis leaves and buds that have not been subjected to the same withering and oxidation processes as oolong and black teas. Green tea originated in China, but it is now grown and manufactured in a number of other East Asian countries.

Green tea comes in a range of flavors, depending on the variety of Camellia sinensis used, growing conditions, horticulture practices, production processes, and harvest timing. There is also extensive research into the potential health benefits of drinking green tea on a regular basis.
